Position Overview:We are seeking an ISA Certified Climbing Arborist to join our Fire Mitigation & Forestry crew. The ideal candidate is skilled in advanced climbing techniques, proper pruning methods, tree removal, and fire mitigation practices. This role offers the opportunity to work outdoors daily, visiting exceptional properties, and contributing directly to wildfire mitigation and forest health in our community.

What You'll Do:

• Work collaboratively with the Forestry and Fire Mitigation team to perform tree pruning, removals, fire mitigation, and related services.

• Safely climb trees using appropriate methods utilizing ropes, harnesses, ladders, and aerial lifts.

• Perform precise pruning cuts adhering to ANSI A300 standards to ensure optimal tree health and aesthetics.

• Engage in fire mitigation activities, including selective tree removal, defensible space creation, and brush clearing to reduce wildfire risks.

• Operate and maintain equipment safely, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and various forestry tools.

• Provide leadership and guidance on job sites regarding safety practices, equipment operation, and high-quality workmanship.

• Conduct hazard assessments, recognizing risks associated with compromised trees and effectively communicating mitigation strategies.

• Perform aerial rescues if required.

Who We're Looking For:

• ISA Certified Arborist with demonstrated experience in climbing arborist techniques.

• Knowledge of native and introduced tree species in Colorado, understanding each species' characteristics and care requirements.

• Demonstrable experience with fire mitigation practices, tree pruning standards, and equipment operation.

• Familiarity with ANSI Z133 safety standards.

• Strong communication and leadership skills, able to mentor and lead crews effectively.

• A valid U.S. driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

• Authorization to legally work in the U.S.

• Ability to consistently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
