Position Title: Barista Team Lead PJ's Coffee @the Colonnade
Reports To: Store Manager / Owner

Position Summary:
The Barista Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily café operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high product quality, and supporting the training and development of baristas. This role bridges the gap between management and front-line staff, setting the tone for a positive, efficient, and customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
• Open or close the café according to company procedures.
• Ensure smooth daily operations, including shift coverage, inventory checks, and equipment upkeep.
• Monitor bar flow and delegate tasks to keep service times efficient.
• Oversee adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Customer Service
• Lead by example in delivering friendly, professional, and personalized service.
• Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
• Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and high standard of product presentation.
Team Management
• Supervise baristas during shifts, ensuring productivity and adherence to standards.
• Provide on-the-spot coaching and feedback.
• Assist in training new hires on company recipes, techniques, and policies.
• Support scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels.
Quality Control
• Monitor drink preparation to ensure consistency and quality.
• Uphold and enforce company standards for coffee, food, and other menu items.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas at all times.
Administrative
• Assist with inventory counts and ordering supplies.
• Track waste, sales, and labor costs as directed.
• Complete shift reports and communicate key updates to management.

Qualifications & Skills
• Minimum 1–2 years of barista experience; prior leadership experience preferred.
• Strong coffee knowledge and passion for specialty beverages.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proactive mindset.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
