Position Title: Police Officer

The City of Fairview Park, Ohio is hiring for the position of Patrol Officer. Candidates are required to complete NTN's Frontline National Exam and PSSA test by April 18, 2025 to move forward with the hiring process.

Job Requirements

Age: Applicants for original appointment as a Patrol Officer must have attained the age of 21 on or prior to the date of examination. No person shall be eligible to receive an original appointment on or after their 41st birthday.

Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Additional Requirements:

Applicants who receive a passing grade of seventy percent (70%) or more on the Police entrance examinations shall be awarded an additional five (5) points for status as a Veteran of the United States Armed Forces. To obtain such extra credit, veterans must attach a copy of their DD214, showing Honorable Discharge, to their application.

Applicants who receive a passing grade of seventy percent (70%) or more on the Police entrance examination shall also be awarded four (4) extra credit points for the possession of a current Ohio Peace Officer Certificate, the documentation for which shall also be attached to their application.

Applicants who are ranked in the top 30 scorers shall be notified of the time and place for a pass/fail agility test. An injury waiver and release form signed by the applicant are required to take the agility test. Failure to take and pass the agility test will eliminate the applicant from further consideration.
